About Our Funders

Contributors to New Alternatives are as diverse as the donation opportunities available to them. As an entirely volunteer organization, virtually every dollar contributed directly funds one of our programs. Whether through bequests, regular donations, participation in the Angels program,or hosting a house party fundraiser we have a funding opportunity for s is funded almost exclusively through the private contributions of individuals and organizations with a commitment to reaching out to the historically under-served LGBT homeless youth population. If you are interested in becoming a funder or sponsor, please email ericdavid@newalternativesnyc.org

Mission Statement

Created in 2008, the mission of New Alternatives is to increase the self-sufficiency of homeless LGBT youth and to enable them to transition out of the shelter system and into stable adult lives. We do this by providing case management, education services, life skills training, community-building recreational activities, opportunities for self-expression, and support services for HIV+ youth. Our guiding principles are those of harm reduction, youth development, and empowerment.
